Maddie + Pete

Maddie + Pete's wedding is just the sweetest celebration that we could have imagined. Set in Highlands, NC, at the Vance family's vineyard, this wedding is so simple and full of love, that it just feels like home! Maddie + Pete chose I Do Events to serve as their wedding coordinator, and as always,  the incredible Elizabeth Fletcher made sure every detail of Maddie + Pete's day was perfect. This was our first time working with Barefoot Flower Girl, and we loved the mixture of earthy and rustic textures and delicate florals on the gorgeous farm tables for the reception. And Sposabella's photos captured the idyllic day so beautifully.

Laid back and casual, but also thoughtful and loving, Maddie + Pete's wedding represented their family values and closeness. The Vance family could not have been more genuine and lovely to work with, and we feel lucky to  have been a part of their celebration. We are excited for the Vance family as they grow their vineyard and event space, and cannot wait 'til our next wedding at The Vineyard at 37 High Holly. 

Good old comfort foods and southern goodies made up Maddie + Pete's menu. Their buffet menu featured a mixed field green salad with local tomatoes and fried Vidalia onions, buttermilk southern fried free-range chicken, SIMB's homegrown vegetables with sea salt and Alison's famous mac n' cheese. Later in the evening, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and chilled milk were passed around the reception, one of our favorite desserts! Maddie was even sweet enough to later say: As a bride, the day of your wedding is such a blur, the one thing my husband and I seem to always talk about was the food! Their attention to detail and creative eye really made our reception what it was. From the beautifully displayed dinner buffets, the amazing tastes of the food, and of course the warm cookies and milk we shared right before we left our reception- it was all perfect. All these amazing memories were brought to life by our wonderful friends at Sun in my Belly.

We are so glad the Vance family found us, and it seems the feeling is mutual. Read this sweet letter that Maddie's mom, Deedee wrote about SIMB after Maddie + Pete's wedding.

Vendor Feature- Blue Eyed Yonder

We first met Krista at Blue Eyed Yonder through mutual friends in the industry a few years ago, and man, what a perfect match! First off, this lady and her tag-teammate, hubby Chris, are just the sweetest people: so lovely to work with, bounce ideas off of, and call our friends! But secondly, as the owners of Blue Eyed Yonder, a vintage rental company located in Atlanta, Krista and Chris have an amazing eye for finding one-of-a-kind pieces that can add charm and history to any event.

Every shoot Krista has asked us to be a part of has been a grand slam. Remember the Derby shoot at Serenbe, or the chicken inspired photoshoot that was featured in Southern Weddings? Seriously, everything BEY touches turns to gold, so it was a no-brainer to ask Krista and Chris to join Studio1658. Since they've become Studio1658 members, Blue Eyed Yonder has already perfected two of our window displays, and we couldn't be more proud to have them turning the studio's storefront into an artful vintage photo collage, or a Shiny & Brite holiday display. We are just smitten.

This duo is constantly on the look out for interesting pieces, and have an inventory that makes us drool. From vintage couches, desks and whimsical accessories, to the perfect getaway car (yes, that's right they have an amazing collection of vintage vehicles that will blow you away!) BEY's collection is more than impressive. And Krista also offers styling services to pull all of your event elements together, and creative a cohesive, vintage vibe for photo shoots, weddings and all celebrations in life. New Year, New Menus

We are starting 2014 with a BANG and couldn't be more excited to debut our new menu tonight! We've added some truly delectable dishes to our already killer menu, and we think our neighborhood noshers are going to love these new additions! From fresh salads, like The Lucy, with kale + red apples + sliced Spanish onions + avocado + toasted pumpkin seeds served with a lemon vinaigrette, to new sandwiches and sides, our lunch menu makeover will make your midday meal unforgettable. If the dish descriptions don't do it for you, Buffy Dekmar's beautiful photos sure will make your mouth water.

If you already love our out-of-this-world bacon, take a look at The Wedge salad, crunchy romaine with grape tomatoes + crumbled bleu cheese + SIMB's honey bacon + roasted walnuts + green goddess dressing. Or check out the steamy soba noodle bowl with tender pulled chicken + carrots + cucumber + sprouts + cilantro in a coconut + lemongrass broth... YUM! 

If dinner is what you've got in mind, and you're thinking that burger looks mighty good, you are in luck!! SIMB is proud to debut The Zia, a half pound of Niman Ranch all natural beef, with Hatch green chile + sharp cheddar + roasted garlic aioli and The Fez, an all natural lamb burger with feta + olive tapenade + black pepper with mint aioli. Wash either one down with a brew from our craft beer list, and you've got the ultimate casual meal! Or sample our new scallop dish: tri-zested scallops with ginger gastrique + warm lentil + cranberry salad + fresh dill + beet vinaigrette, perfect with the Bliss Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc.

A Taste of Foxhall

We were ecstatic when Foxhall asked us to join their preferred vendor list last year.  Located in Chattahoochee Hills, this amazing sporting lodge has so many beautiful wedding sites, and when Foxhall announced their newest venue, Lakeside Terrace, we knew exactly how to show it off to potential brides and grooms. Collaborating with some of the best in the biz, many vendors from Studio1658, we created "A Taste of Foxhall," a styled tasting and photo shoot.

Inspired by Martha Stewart and Ralph Lauren's style,  creative director Ginny Branch blended elegant, natural, and clean elements to create this stunning showcase, which was coordinated beautifully by Simply Charming Socials. The oatmeal and cream tones with pops of greens kept the palette fresh, and perfect for any season. Danny Wilson at The Savage Garden incorporated succulents, apples, and figs into lush greenery in each of the spectacular arrangements. Check out the stunning drift wood alter piece and chandelier!

Slate and wooden slabs were the perfect serving pieces for our light bite menu. Mango + scallop ceviche, mini BLT sandwiches, and green gazpacho with almond brittle were some of the tasty treats, along with a gorgeous charcuterie display. One of our new favorite menu items, beet chips with smoked trout and caper berry remoulade were gobbled up too. Erica Loesing, of the brand new Yes Ma'am, created wonderful handwritten tags for each dish, a classic chalk board menu, and that unbelievable invitation suite- such a talented lady! 

Of course, there to document every delightful detail were the wonderful Buffy and Chris Dekmar, who shot film and video throughout the day. Even our sweet little Henry made it into a few shots! Buffy's photos are just perfection, and take us right back to this wonderful afternoon at Foxhall with these incredible vendors. Missy + Sten

Alright, Mondays are never fun, we get it. But we've got the most amazing wedding for you today, that is going to blow you away, and start your week the right way. 

Missy + Sten chose Vinewood for their laid-back celebration, which inspired a vintage, rustic theme across the board, but kept it playful too. The mauve tufted couch, hanging parasols and handmade fabric boutonnieres were all great elements that made Missy + Sten's wedding their own. We love the bright bouquet and florals Jennifer at Virtu designed, it's hard to look at them and not feel happy. The whole evening had that light-hearted, playful and fun vibe, and Matt Miller, from Our Labor of Love, did a helluva job capturing this in his dynamic photos. He is a rockstar! Was anyone else really impressed by Sten's high-kick skills?  Seriously.As eclectic as Missy + Sten's wedding was, their menu was surprisingly traditional, with a slight twist. Meatloaf sliders with sun-dried tomato mayo, brioche boxes with pimento cheese, and pad thai with toasted cashews and avocado were passed after the ceremony. The buffet dinner menu featured buttermilk southern fried free range chicken, mac n' cheese and black pepper biscuits-- perfectly southern. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Missy + Sten opted for a cookie cake and dessert bar,  which were big hits, and very "them." Missy + Sten are so genuine, and their wedding was truly theirs. Just the right mix of casual, vintage, and fun, and filled with lots of laughter and love. Missy + Sten's love is sort of intoxicating, and whether you've know them for years, days, or ever just spent few minutes sorting through their photos, you can't help but love them too. It's all that warm-n-fuzzy feelings stuff that reminds us how lucky we are to play a hand in so many lovely couple's weddings and keeps us grateful, even on a Monday.Congrats you two!

Jules + Rob

Jules + Rob's timeless wedding celebration is one for the books. Filled with old Hollywood glamour and elegance, this stunning wedding, captured beautifully by the talented duo Altmix Photography, will  take your breath away.

Coordinated by the lovely Amy, at A Flawless Event, Jules + Rob's wedding was just that-- flawless from start to finish. The Imperial Ballroom at The Biltmore served as the ideal setting for their elegant and traditional ceremony, and the lavish florals from Britt Wood Designs and luxurious linens from I Do Linens, made the already gorgeous Georgian Ballroom even more dazzling. From Jules' romantic Jenny Packham dress to the Rob's Armani tux, there were so many glamorous elements, we just can't get enough. Jules + Rob's guests made their way to Atlanta from both coasts, and were treated to some Southern hospitality in the form of comfort food during the reception. Fried green tomatoes with horseradish sauce and caramelized onions were a huge hit during cocktail hour, as well as Alison's famous meatloaf sliders. Our local apple and crispy pancetta salad marked the start of dinner service, where guests were served a choice of miso-glazed grilled salmon with cilantro couscous, zinfandel + rosemary marinated filet of beef with mashed potatoes and sautéed kale, or wild mushroom ravioli, served in a light tarragon sauce. After dinner, guests enjoyed wedding cake, as well as espresso mousse shots and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing. 

Such a stunning couple and evening. We are honored to have been a part of Jules + Rob's incredible celebration and wish these two continued happiness.
