Anna + Andrew

It is a real treat to be part of a wedding that truly reflects a couple's personalities and embodies their relationship-- and their creative, gorgeous, heartfelt wedding fit Anna + Andrew like a glove. We cannot stop gushing about this ΓΌber artistic wedding at Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center. ACAC was the ideal blank canvas to let Anna's imagination run wild. By bringing in colors + textures, personal touches, and a whole lot of DIY decor, Anna transformed the art gallery's courtyard and urban pavilion to create her and Andrew's dream wedding. From the origami stars and hanging muslin installation, to the family portraits and southern comfort menu, all the elements of Anna + Andrew's wedding came together beautifully, and represented their great love story.
We were thrilled when Anna + Andrew took our suggestion for a first class photographer-- Heidi from Our Labor of Love. Her perspective is so refreshing and wonderful to work with, and we have her to thank for these DYNAMIC photos. Always a pleasure to work with, Heidi not only captures tender moments and momentous events, but she also makes us see weddings in a truly artistic light.
Anna + Andrew's wedding was a great balance of homegrown + modern, but their menu could have been from your grandmother's kitchen. Fried green tomatoes, brioche boxes with pimento cheese, our buttermilk fried chicken, and barbeque pulled pork were some the Southern delights of the night. And instead of cake, Anna + Andrew were true to themselves, slicing up their favorite pies, including pumpkin, for their guests to enjoy.
Here's what Anna + Andrew had to say about SIMB:
"My husband and I can't recommend Sun in My Belly highly enough. As soon as we signed our contract with them, I knew that I was well on my way to having a great wedding - and that proved to be absolutely right! Not only was their food phenomenal, but their day-of coordination services were fantastic. Emily Gomez was right there with me every step of the way both as my catering coordinator and day-of coordinator, which made the whole planning process that much easier. Not only did SIMB provide top-knotch services, but they were also able to work within our budget and made sure that Andrew and I felt comfortable with every decision we made. I can't thank Sun in My Belly enough! They truly helped make the best day of my life that much better."

Such a humble, genuine and lovely couple, Anna + Andrew's wedding was an absolute thrill to be a part of, and we are thankful to have gotten to get to know them and see their outstanding wedding come to life.
Cheers,
SIMB

Courtney + Brett

Classic beauty + tradition were key elements in Courtney + Brett's wedding at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. From to-die-for table settings, to the gorgeous and unique florals by Team Osaba, this wedding is text book "refined."  We always love weddings in the Atlanta Botanical Garden, but the cherry on top of Courtney + Brett's spectacular day, was getting to work with Emily at Jubilee Weddings + Events. It is amazing how much smoother a wedding can be with an incredible coordinator taking the reins, and it is always a breeze when we get to work with a wedding coordinator like Emily, and Brett + Courtney's wedding was no exception. And of course, 6 of Four captured the flawless wedding with grace. Check out their pictures below.
In a true traditional style, Courtney + Brett's family and friends enjoyed a decadent seated + served meal starting with our apple and crispy pancetta salad over fresh local greens. For their entrees, the couple chose our popular zinfandel + rosemary beef tenderloin with a finger licking gorgonzola cream sauce + our balsamic glazed chicken with caramelized vidalia onions. Sides included our homegrown seasonal vegetables with a maple glaze and buttery bliss potatoes with shallots + parsley. And dessert was as sweet as can be too-- along with their cakes, Courtney + Brett had an assortment of mini desserts, including our valrhona chocolate three nut pies + lavender + meyer lemon pies + triple berry pies.
Courtney + Brett, we hope your lives together is as smooth sailing, as elegant and as full of love as your wedding celebration was.
Cheers,
SIMB

Jen + Mike

Jen and Mike's wedding is one that gives us the warm + fuzzies! Such a sweet, thoughtful and amazing couple, and all their lovely qualities shined through on their wedding day. Set in the incredible pavilion at Lake Rabun, Jen + Mike's wedding was the perfect summer night,  full of romance and rustic grace. From the blueberries in Jen's bouquet to the runners on the guest tables, the little details of this wedding were perfection. Amanda Dana with Ashley Baber Weddings help ensure every one of those details were on point, coordinating throughout the night. We love, love, love the hanging flower installations, and all of the florals done by the ever ingenious women of Amy Osaba. Jen's hair + makeup were done by the fabulous Raney O'Keefe,  and Ashley + Graham of Scobey Photography knocked it out of the park with their fantastic photography.

Guests started the night with miniature take out boxes with our pad thai + baby lamb chops with watercress romesco sauce + caprese salad skewers. Their dinner menu featured our tapas stations, including a low country boil + a quesadilla station + a traditional carving station with prime rib. Their guests also enjoyed late night bites, including hand passed beignets + mini milkshakes with chocolate mini donuts + Alison's famous meatloaf sliders with sundried tomato mayo.
So simple and lovely, Jen + Mike's is that kind of wedding we look back at and sigh, wishing we could do a hundred more just like it. Congratulations!! Hope there are many relaxing summer nights at the lake in your life together.
Cheers,
SIMB

Come into Sun in my Belly this week for brunch or dinner and enter your information at the front counter to win a weekend in the North Georgia Mountains. The wonderful weekend away will include a tasting +  tour at Crane Creek Vineyards, delicious food from yours truly, and some special surprises.
Come in and get familiar with our selective wine list-- you won't want to miss these amazing wines:
Villard Noir- This dry rose is produced in the classic French style from the red winegrape, Villard Noir. Limited skin contact at crush provides the delicate color and body to this wine. A wonderful salad wine, and a great treat for brunch or lunch.
Seyval Blanc- One of Crane Creek's first wines, we think Seyval defines their vineyards + winemaking style. It's a perfect accompaniment to fish and chicken and would also be wonderful with a caesar salad!
Enotah White- YUMMY, rich, buttery and right up our alley. Crafted from the French American hybrid grape, Chardonel, this wine is produced in a classic Chardonnay style. 75% fermentation in new Virginia oak and 25% in stainless steel gives this white a supple mouth feel with subtle buttery overtones without being over oaked.
Mountain Harvest Red-  This fruit forward semi-sweet wine is a versatile food wine which easily pairs with a multitude of dishes. Its low tannin and softness make it the "white wine drinker's red".
Hellbender-  This unique, big, bold red is a single varietal wine produced from the native American grape Norton. Not for the faint of heart, this red pairs beautifully with red meat dishes and hearty stews. It's one of our favorites!
And we are excited to announce Sun in my Belly's Wineclub details! Become a member for 25% off 6 bottles of Crane Creek's finest. You'll receive the five wines listed above, plus the very special Sweet Sally, the ultimate summertime wine.
